DREAM BIG
Our Vision
SAYDA dreams big! The road ahead to youth safety and empowerment may not be easy, but it is a journey that the SAYDA team is prepared to undertake, with the hope of reaching out and developing as many youth as possible. SAYDA plans to reach out to the youth on a provincial, national and global scale.
The SAYDA vision includes, but is not limited to:
- Giving youth access to much-needed resources, in order for them to develop to their greatest potential, and empower them for a better life.
- Establishing effective diversion programs for our local communities, in order to confront and conquer common challenges faced by adolescents, their peers and their family units.
- Establishing a rehabilitation centre, as a safe haven for victims of drug and alcohol abuse.
- Establishing a social youth club, dedicated to unearthing and nurturing the unique strengths, skills and talents of each adolescent, through positive sport, the arts, and other recreational activities.
our goal
EMPOWERING TOMORROW'S LEADERS, TODAY.
AWAKENING THE YOUTH
events
YOUTH -CLEAN UP DAY
• DIVERSION PROGRAMMES - Informative and interactive sessions directed at all members of local communities, with the ultimate aim of redirecting the collective mindset towards positivity and productivity, creating a living example of success for the youth.
• YOUTH AWARENESS VIDEO - This 45-minute documentary brings home the reality of poor choices and consequences, as it tackles relevant issues such as delinquency, teenage pregnancy and suicidality, by portraying real adolescents who have made incorrect choices. This initiative has proven successful in encouraging adolescents to reach out for help and advice. Since the launch of this visual component, SAYDA has made positive contact with more than 6500 students at numerous schools, including Eastbury Secondary, Brookdale Secondary, Rydalpark Secondary, Westham Secondary, and Earlington Secondary. With the ongoing support of respective schools and their principals, educators and governing bodies, SAYDA hopes to continue with such models of intervention across the nation, as funding permits.
• SCHOOL SHOE DRIVE - SAYDA distributes school shoes to underprivileged students, motivating these promising individuals to walk on the path towards a brighter future.
